Lectionary

The Noble Quran (meaning "Lectionary" in the Syro-Aramaic reading or "Recitation" in the traditional Arabic reading) is a Judeo-Christian liturgical text central to the Islamic faith, and is considered more of an Apocryphal text to mainstream Christianity. It deals with various Old and New Testament characters, themes, and events, but differs in important ways in its traditional reading from the traditional canon texts to Judaism and Christianity.

On this wiki, the Syro-Aramaic reading is given preference due to the Nabataean Aramaic origins of Quranic Arabic, but care has been taken to include the oldest Arabic text available for the Quran, written in Rasm script, as well as the most popular traditional readings of said script post-diacritical insertion.

In an attempt to be respectful to all Judeo-Christian denominations, we have included some overlap on this site between the canon Old and New Testament books and the Apocryphal Old and New Testament books, as not all denominations agree on which books should be considered such. Said books will be included in both lists, as they might or might not be canon depending on who you ask.
