Moses

As revealed to Joseph Smith the Prophet

The Book we now refer to as the Book of Moses in the Pearl of Great Price is actually comprised of three separate revelations given to Joseph Smith, the Prophet, almost immediately after the publication of the Book of Mormon. He never referred to it as the Book of Moses, but when it was published a good while after his death, the decision was made to call it thus due to the first chapter therein.

There is good reason to believe that its contents were part of the 116 pages which were lost by Martin Harris and subsequently fell into the hands of men who were antagonistic to the church.

Because it can be viewed as another version of the beginning of Genesis, it has been fused with the rest of Genesis (and the "inspired translation") herein, although chapter 1 of the Pearl of Great Price's Book of Moses has no direct parallel in the KJV account of Genesis, and as such, there is an additional Chapter within Moses when compared thereto. It can be seen as a prologue.
